Teri Hatcher Tells Almost All

Teri Hatcher is quite proud of her nipples. The Desperate Housewives star revealed that and other steamy secrets to Nancy O’Dell in a recent interview.
In addition to promoting her book about self-acceptance, Burnt Toast, Hatcher answered questions about dating and “crazy, wild sex.” She did keep some things private - despite O’Dell’s repeated reminders that they were just “girlfriends.” “I want to have sex but I’m not going to be specific with who,” the actress joked.
Other topics that came up in the interview were her rumored romantic tie to actor George Clooney and the photos of her kissing American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest.

America’s Got Talent: Does It Really?
Posted by Abby Rose Dalto Categories: Reality, NBC, American Idol, Talent, Editorial,
I finally got around to checking out America’s Got Talent. I was able to catch a repeat of Episode 2 - which originally aired this Wednesday on NBC - on Bravo and boy was I surprised! America really has got talent - or at least, it sort of does. This show is a bizarre American Idol rip-off (I mean “spin-off”, Simon Cowell is the producer) that follows the the Idol formula a little too closely.
Talent, like Idol, has three celebrity judges: the sympathetic singing star (Brandy), the caustic British Judge (Piers Morgan), and the random pop culture icon (David Hasselhoff!) It is a formula that works, but unfortunately most of the critiques end up sounding scripted. The majority of the decisions seem to ultimately come down to the Hoff as a tie-breaker, for Brandy is too nice to say no to anyone (except maybe the woman who performed a sexy strip tease on stage) and Piers is too mean to say yes to anyone.
Oh and wait! It’s got Regis too, but I guess anyone is better than Seacrest at this point.
The real difference between Idol and Talent, is that while America may never tire of new emerging pop stars, there isn’t much need for a new hit harp player, baton twirler, or um, “stove-on-chin-balancer”. The show is entertaining and the performers - most of them - are indeed quite skilled, but is there really any market for these contestants after the show is over? When it all comes down to it, Idol‘s got marketable talent but Talent has not.
I must say, you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen a man balance swords in his mouth while dressed in an Victoria’s Secret-esque angel outfit and high heels. The amazing Leonid’s plea to return to the next round (after being eliminated) was a heart-wrenching site to behold. Apparently it worked because even Piers reversed his vote. I guess he knows good TV when he sees it and the freak show acts on this show are definitely good TV.

American Idol runner-up, Katharine McPhee, has been talking publicly about her five-year battle with bulimia. According to the songstress, she hit rock-bottom when she was throwing up as many as seven times a day. The damage to her vocal cords could have prevented her from even making it to Idol, but after successfully “making it to Hollywood,” she spent three months in group and individual therapy at Los Angeles’s Eating Disorder Center of California. According to McPhee, “When I made it onto American Idol, I knew that food – my eating disorder – was the one thing really holding me back. I was binging my whole life away for days at a time…So when I got on the show, I said, ‘You know what? I can do well in this competition. Let me give myself a chance and just get a hold of this thing.”
People Magazine reports that McPhee has lost 30 lbs., resulting from an approach she learned while at the Eating Disorder Center. Katharine praises the impact of Idol, saying “That’s why I say American Idol saved my life, because if I hadn’t auditioned I don’t think I would have gotten a handle on food.”

Tom Cruise Wins Forbes Magazine’s List
Posted by Eric Chaloux Categories: Music, ABC, FOX, NBC, American Idol, Oprah Winfrey Show, Talent, The Sopranos, News,
The most powerful celebrity according to Forbes Magazine’s Celebrity 100 is Tom Cruise. If that wasn’t a downer…I don’t know what else is. To make the list Forbes looks at a celebrity’s earnings and media appearances over the last 12 months, traditionally June to June.
New members of the Celebrity 100 club this year include the cast of The Sopranos in the ninth spot. U2 was the highest-paid music group on the list. Jerry Seinfeld was the highest-paid comedian, but only the 28th most powerful celebrity. Meanwhile, American Idol stars Simon Cowell (29th) and Ryan Seacrest (88th) made their debuts on the Celebrity 100. Simon’s earnings were put at $43 million, Seacrest’s at $12 million. And yes, the stars of The Simple Life made the list as Paris Hilton came in at 56th and Nicole Richie snuck in at 95th. Paris’ dog didn’t make the cut. The 100th spot goes to ABC’s star of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ty Pennington.
He’s a look at Forbes Magazine Top 10 List:
- Tom Cruise, $67 million
- The Rolling Stones, $90 million
- Oprah Winfrey, $225 million
- U2, $110 million
- Tiger Woods, $90 million
- Steven Spielberg, $332 million
- Howard Stern, $302 million
- 50 Cent, $41 million
- Cast of The Sopranos, $52 million
- Dan Brown, $88 million

American Idol Wins Big in Court

Ruben Studdard. When was the last time you really heard that name? Well the 2003 American Idol winner has been focusing a lot of his time not on music, but on getting his money back. Studdard was just awarded $2 million in his lawsuit against his ex-manager for misappropriating the singer’s money and credit cards. He filed suit last year against ex-manager Ronald W. Edwards and Edwards’ promotions company, Sez Inc. Studdard only lost about $500,000 dollars, but the judge awarded him $1.5 million in punitive damages.
Selling 2.2 million records can get you a lot, but not everything. According to the AP, this legal issue has been a credit challenge for Studdard and has caused problems for him trying to buy a home.

Chris Daughtry Turns Down Job Offer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, American Idol, Talent, Gossip,
Apparently Chris Daughtry does not need Fuel to light his fire.
Despite the job offer Daughtry received from the established rock band within hours of being axed, Chris has decided to further weigh his options. Instead of using the band as a crutch into the music industry, he plans on doing things his own way.
This could prove to be a risky move for Daughtry. Will he become another blip on our radars like last year’s rocker Bo Bice? Did he miss an opportunity to immediately tour like JD Fortun did with INXS? You know what they say: Out of sight, short of hair… sometimes out of mind.

Taylor Hicks Wins American Idol 5
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Reality, Specials, FOX, American Idol, Talent,
It took a few months, but the man that Simon passed up during the auditions turned it around and made a believer out of a nation. Taylor Hicks has become your newest American Idol. In a two-hour finale that went a bit over it’s allotted time (causing me to watch the clock intently, hoping my DVR had at least caught the announcement of the winner) we saw the Idol contestants sing together, and a few of them even sang duets with the likes of Live, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, and Meatloaf. Speaking of which, we are unsure as to who we felt did worse…Meatloaf looked like he was having a seizure, while Toni Braxton looked like she wanted to sex Taylor up, and sounded absolutely dreadful. Prince even made an appearance, performing a song on his own.
Of course, the best celebrity moment happened when Clay Aiken walked out and freaked out one of the early Idol contestants. Just golden. In the end, Taylor Hicks walked away with the American Idol title, and Katharine McPhee walked away with a well-deserved second place. It will be interesting to see if Taylor follows Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood to superstardom, or if he fades into obscurity like Ruben Studdard and Fantasia. For now, congrats Taylor. You deserve it.
